I am well under 3 weeks to go and there is much to be done. I have almost completed my packing list, and am ready to actually start packing. It's a daunting task, I will only be taking one piece of luggage, a backpack, and my small guitar. Making the list has been an interesting exercise, trying to figure out what I truly need. I think its a pretty solid list, whether it will all fit is a different question. Maybe once I have it finalized I will see if I can post it.
Backing up a little bit for anyone who is out of the loop, I am headed to Tasmania for the Fall semester to study at the University of Tasmania, in their Marine Science and Antarctic Studies Departments. I am keeping this "blog" (however much I dislike the term and all the connotations it carries) to keep everyone updated.
Here is a very rough itinerary, of course subject to change.
21 June: Logan arrives in West Chester. Logan is a friend from Charleston who is also going to Tasmania and we will be flying out together, in the hopes of staving off boredom over the many hours of sitting in airports and airplanes.
27-29 June: Travel to Cairns, Australia via DFW, LAX, and Sydney. Total time door to door will be about 36 hours.
29 June-4 July: Orientation in Cairns
4 July: Arrive in Hobart
12 July: Classes Begin
11 November: Last Day of Finals
11 November-8 December: Traveling in Australia
8-14 December: Traveling in New Zealand
14-21 December: Traveling in Hawaii
22-25 December: Christmas in Phoenix, Arizona
25 December: Arrive back in West Chester
What a trip it will be!
Catch you all later.
Ian
